January 17, 2012 Hey all! 2012 is already off to a great start for Brothers Past and we've got some more great things in store for you in the weeks ahead. We are going to be releasing a double album in March called Everything Must Go 0111 that will include 20 or so songs from throughout our career. Some of them you will may have already heard if you've been following our EMG online release series, and some will be completely new to your ears. But the more we listen to them, the more we like them, and we want you to be able to have them. All of them! We're assembling the whole thing as a 2-CD set, and we've enlisted our good friend Jon Altschiller (This Feeling's Called Goodbye) to help with final mixes and mastering. Even if you've heard the tracks before, you've never heard them like this! EMG 0111 will be available for digital release on Tuesday, March 27. Physical copies of the CD will be available for the first time at any one of our three CD Release Parties: Thursday, March 22 at the 8x 10 in Baltimore, MD; Friday, March 23 at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse, NY and Saturday, March 24 at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, PA. And here's some hi-def video from our show at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square, NY! December 20, 2011 More 2012 dates rolling in. The band will be doing a run of shows across the Midwest during President's Day weekend in February. It's been a long time coming and we are really excited to get back to a part of the country that has always shown us nothing but love. We've got dates lined up in Michigan (Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo), Illinois (DeKalb and Chicago) and Cleveland, OH. We are still working out final details for the Chicago show, but rest assured we will show you guys a real good time. The New Years Eve Run is quickly approaching, and our friends at ABNRML have helped us put together this lovely print to commemorate the occasion. We're calling this one Father Time. It's a beautiful limited edition print created by our favorite artists T-Bone and Aljax. These guys have always produced amazing prints for some of our most important shows, and this year is no different. Head here and check it out! Preorders for the Father Time print are available now. Have it shipped to you by January 9th or reserve your copy by paying for online starting Wednesday and picking it up at one of the four shows. Really looking forward to next week! November 28, 2011 We know that the first day back to the grind after a long holiday weekend can be a real drag, so we wanted to do our parts to make the day a little better. First up: check out our recent set from the Sun Music Hall in Floyd, VA. We're making the soundboard available through the Digital Downlow. Stream it for free or download it for just $5! BROTHERS PAST will perform on Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square, NY alongside our good friends The Disco Biscuits and our other good friends Orchard Lounge! Really looking forward to being part of this epic night of music! Details for the rest of the run are beginning to shape up and we will be making some big announcements soon. We've enlisted The Indobox, our good friends from Boston, to play with us at the Blockley in Philadelphia on December 30. Should be a great night! October 18, 2011 Is it really October already? We've been having so much fun making music this year that we didn't even notice how quickly the year was flying by. But lo and behold, it has, and now that it's officially approaching the end of the year, it's time to announce our end of year plans. With New Years Eve on the horizon, we've got some big plans to usher in 2012. BROTHERS PAST will ring in the new year by playing a three-night run along the East Coast, capped off by an epic NYE party at the Canal Club in Richmond, VA. We've done NYE in Philly, we've done it in NYC, but this will be our first time tasting the New Year in Richmond, and we can't wait to throw down! We're looking forward to our first Southern-style NYE! The NYE run also includes shows at Jillian's in Albany (Thurs 12/29) and a hometown show at the Blockley in Philadelphia (Fri 12/30.) Both shows are 18+ so you college types can attend. Look for additional announcements soon about ticket availability, support bands, and travel accommodations. Oh and while we're thinking about it, we made some tee-shirts and people seem to like them. You can buy one (and other assorted pieces of BP gear) in our new store. Paypal only please. We keep our cash in the walls because we don't trust banks. http://abnrml.bigcartel.com/category/brothers-past October 11, 2011 Couple of changes for next month's Southern Run: the Blacksburg date (11/19) has been relocated to a new venue. The band will now be appearing at the Sun Music Hall in Floyd, VA (not to far from Blacksburg.) We've also added a third show to the run: Thursday, 11/17 at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC. Really looking forward to getting back down South! If you're looking for a great Halloween party, you should head up to Ithaca, NY on Saturday, 10/29 for the GET SPOOKY event. This multi-band event is being thrown at Moving Box Studios and is 18 +. We're only doing one set, but it will be a scary extended dose of the crazy music we make. Putting together a nice little NYE Run. Hoping to announce it sometime during the next week. See you in West Chester and Teaneck. September 27, 2011 Time to mark a few more dates on your calendars! Oh yeah, we've also got a few southern dates to throw into the mix: Friday, Nov.18 at the Pourhouse in Raleigh, NC and Saturday, Nov. 19 at Awful Arthurs in Blacksburg, VA. We may just add a Thursday night to the run as well. Keep an eye out. Have you checked out the studio version of Boy yet? September 20, 2011 Two new shows to announce! BROTHERS PAST will be performing at the Note in West Chester, PA on Friday, Oct 14 and Mexicali Live on Saturday Oct 15. Tickets for both shows are on sale now! September 14, 2011 Everything Must Go Vol. 12 is now available! Stream/download our latest studio release Boy through our Digital Downlow portal. This final installment of our 10-year-anniversary retrospective also includes a previously unreleased 2004 show from Slade Hall in Burlington, VT. We think both segments are a great way to end the series, which was intended to celebrate ten years of BROTHERS PAST. What better way to cap it off then to go all the way back to our roots? Boy is one of the first songs Tommy wrote for the band, and it is the oldest song in our repertoire. Slade Hall was where we played our first shows in the far reaches of the Northeast and it's a place where we met some of our oldest friends and fans along the way. We also wanted to include a bonus with this release, so we've included a smashing rendition of One Rabbit Race from Camp Bisco 2010. Too bad about the rain huh? Stream the show for free or download it for $5! September 9, 2011 Greetings all! Just updating everyone about the band's plans for the fall. We are in the midst of finalizing some East Coast dates for October and mid-November, but we wanted to let you know about a couple of things we've already got set in stone. For starters, there's Thanksgiving weekend. BROTHERS PAST will be performing at the Appalachian Brewing Co in Harrisburg, PA on Wednesday, Nov. 23. We're expecting a big night in Central PA! Thanksgiving Weekend will see the band performing two shows in upstate New York as part of Rock n Roll Resort, an indoor festival unlike anything of its kind in the Northeast. BROTHERS PAST will perform both Friday and Saturday, along with acts like Zach Deputy, the Ryan Montbleau Band, Kung Fu and more. Tickets are already on sale and can be purchased here. Florida fans take note: BROTHERS PAST will be returning to the Sunshine State in March 2012! The band will be performing at the AURA Festival alongside acts like Papadosio, The Heavy Pets and more. We can't wait to get back down to the Southeast. Everything Must Go Vol. 12, the final installment of our 12-part release will be available through our website on Saturday, Sept. 10. More tourdates will be announced as soon as they're confirmed! August 26, 2011 Update: The Brooklyn Bowl show has been postponed due to inclement weather. Stay tuned, as we're working on a rescheduled date. August 16, 2011 Update: The Brooklyn Bowl show has been moved to an 11pm start time. We apologize for any inconveniences. August 8, 2011 Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop you a quick line to keep you informed with what's happening these days. Had a great weekend in Western PA and are back in the studio putting the final touches on EMG Vol. 11, which will be released digitally on Wednesday, Aug. 10 via our website. We've got a bunch of shows coming up this month, including a "surprise" BPM show at Silk City on Tuesday, Aug. 9 and our long-awaited return to Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday, Aug. 27. Please note that the BK Bowl show is an early one -- 8 PM start time! That means the show will be over, but never fear, our friends from Mr. Bugsly Presents our throwing an afterparty with some cool DJs at a cool little spot called Cameo, and we will definitely be in attendance. Both shows have been priced affordably ($10 each), so you can have a great night in Brooklyn without putting a huge dent in your wallet! We've also got a couple of great festivals lined up this month. First up is Camp Barefoot in Bartow, WV with Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, the New Deal, Orchard Lounge, Papadosio and more. Then there's Bass 51 Camp, where we will be performing with Break Science, Higher Organix and a whole lot more electronica bands. If that's your vibe, you don't wanna miss this one! We will be back at the 8x10 in Baltimore on August 18 and at Soundlab in Buffalo on August 25. See you there! July 14, 2011 Just wanted to post a quick note to announce the unveiling of our new website. We will be tweaking it and adding new features over the coming weeks but for now enjoy the new design. Everything Must Go Vol. 10 was released earlier this week and features a brand new studio cut of Big Blue Apples and a soundboard recording of last month?s epic Big Effing Boat concert in NYC. Stream it for free or download it for $4.99. Check it out here. BROTHERS PAST returns to the stage on Friday, Aug. 5 at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg, PA. See you there! June 2011 THE BIG EFFING BOAT is just days away! Can you feel the excitement in that air? For those of you who don't know what a BIG EFFING BOAT is (who signed you up for this thing anyway?!?), here's the lowdown: three hours cruising through the Hudson River, two sets of BP, one tremendous night of music and fun. It all goes down Friday night in New York City. Who's ready to get GONZO?!?!? Tickets are still available and can be purchased here.
